SAYACINTAINDONESIA — As you know, there are many social media platforms that you can use to share and communicate. One of them is Podcast, which has recently been in great demand by many people, both those who want to broadcast their voice digitally, entertainment seekers through voice, or as a platform for digital marketing strategists.

Podcasts are preferred because to start broadcasting digitally like this is not so difficult when compared to making videos which have to go through a layered editing process. Podcasts can be the right choice for you to be creative, but you are not so confident about appearing in front of the camera.

Besides being easy, you can create Podcasts through two selected applications or sites, namely Anchor and Spotify. However, before you have an account, there are a few things you need to prepare:

  1. Setting Up Tools and Apps

To start making Podcasts, you must prepare a digital device that can be connected to the internet, such as a smartphone or laptop. Meanwhile, for the applications you use to create podcasts, namely Anchor and Spotify. If you use a laptop or computer, then you can access it directly through a browser. However, if you are a smartphone user, you can download the application via the PlayStore for Android users or the AppStore for iOS users.

  1. Making Scripts

You have prepared the tools. Next, you need to set up a theme and create a script so you can speak fluently while recording on Podcasts. Take note of the important things you want to convey, from the opening to the closing. With a script, you can minimize the errors, such as messages being missed or out of topic.

Steps to Make Podcasts Through Anchor App

  1. Creating an Account on Anchor

For those of you who don’t have an Anchor account, you can create an account first on the https://anchor.fm site if you use a computer, or install the application first if you use a smartphone. Select “sign up”, fill in the data, and check all available fields.

After that, the Anchor will send an email message for the next step, namely account verification. Try to create an account with a special email. By using a special email, it will be easier for you to receive notifications if there are problems with the Podcasts that you create.

  1. Setting Up a Podcast Account

After completing registration, log in to your Podcasts account and do some settings on the Podcast name. Try to come up with a name that is unique and easy for your listeners to remember. Also set the description, because this section is very important to describe the content of the Podcast that will be created.

Then, adjust the category, because choosing a category will make your Podcast easy for listeners to find. In addition, the determination of categories will determine the position of the Podcasts you create on the Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify platforms.

  1. Making Cover Art

Sometimes, listeners will notice your Podcast cover art . The more attractive your channel cover image , the more curious listeners will be about the content of the Podcast.

For making cover art at Anchor, there are three options that you can try, starting from “search for a photo” or you can make it directly through Anchor. Then “upload an image” , where you can upload cover art that has been made from other applications. Then, “choose one for me“, where Anchor will randomly generate your cover image.

  1. Recording Podcasts

Now, after performing the steps above, you can now start recording Podcasts by clicking the “new episode” buttonContinue by pressing the record button, so a window will appear to allow microphone access, tap “allow”. However, if you already have the recording, you only need to upload the file in the “click to upload or drop audio here” section .

When you’re done recording, provide a description, such as the title of the episode you created, a description of the episode, and choosing when the Podcast will be published. If you are sure of the Podcast that you created, select “publish now” and your Podcast will be automatically available on Spotify and another music platform. Good Luck!
